I just installed a fresh kubuntu 9.04.
I installed the recommended nvidia drivers (180).
Now all is wine 3D accel works and sound.
From my point of view you can set it to fixed in 9.04

First feedback:
I just installed Kubuntu 8.10 from CD and already had a kernelupdate.
Sound works for no with one strange thing:
- when I log in, Kde starts up and plays the welcome sound for 2
seconds and the sound gets interrupted.
Now I try to play with amarok, - no sound.
NOTE: just
An additional notice
when I restarted Kubuntu .. the logout melody was played.
But when loggin in again I heard a sound for 0.5 seconds and it was gone away,
amarok doesn't work anymore.
I will now continue my installation and install the nvidia 3d driver.

thanks for the reply even if I did not expect some reaction on this bug
reports.
Now ... ubuntu will come out in one week (or better Kubuntu) I will install it
and tell you if it works or not.
