You're welcome! Normally when proposing a SRU though, we would be able
to identify the patch that fixes the problem. Upgrading to the newest
upstream version as a SRU doesn't normally happen, so I'm not sure
whether this will be approved for SRU. If it isn't though, I'll request
it to be

I am asking that the Stable Release Update team please get the new
version of the linux uvc driver from intrepid ibex 8.10 and use that
driver in hardy 8.04 to fix this bug that no longer exists in the
intrepid ibex.

it's fixed upstream because i don't have a proble with intrepid ibex

um... it dosn't completely crash anymore, but the part of the program that is
live freezes after less then 10sec.
also I had to remove the cheese-dbgsym to install your package so i didn't do a
backtrace.

Sorry to be a pain, but you're still missing some debug packages there I
think. The one you're missing is libc6-i686-dbgsym. I'm on 64-bit and
don't have an equivalent package, so I missed that from the list of
packages I asked you to install. Sorry!

Hm, they look like 2 completely different crashes. In the first
crash, cheese terminates with SIGABRT, and in the second one it
terminates with a segmentation fault.
For the second crash, please follow these instructions to have apport
report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with
it maybe the uvc driver though because after I run luvcview after a few
seconds it starts to get garbled I took a screenshot and attached it
