I managed to get ia32-libs installed yesterday by apt-get remove lib32ssl0.9.8 first; I swear added that note to this bug report but I don't see it. {shrug} Perhaps it came in via a medibuntu package. In any case here is the output of apt-cache policy lib32ssl0.9.8: lib32ssl0.9.8: Installed:

The problem is that ia32-libs is trying to overwrite a file that belongs to a package called 'lib32ssl0.9.8'. Where did you install this package from? I can't find it in any of the Ubuntu repositories. Could you please type the following in to a terminal: apt-cache policy lib32ssl0.9.8 Thanks
