ddfarren, could you please try with ubuntu 9.04?
the acx module is not included in the 2.6.24 kernel:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy-updates/i386/linux-image-2.6.24-24-generic/filelist
but it is in the 2.6.28:

not generate any errors.
Suggestions?
FYI - I have an 8.10 live DVD. It also does not recognize my WiFi card.
Due to these issues I'm sort of stuck at 2.6.24.20.

** Description changed:
- I recently performed an update from Ubuntu Release 8.04, kernel
- 2.6.24-20-generic to 2.6.24-21-generic. Following the installation a
- reboot was performed and my Linksys wireless card is no longer
- recognized. The active LED does not come on during startup.
It didn't die, it just went in a coma ;-) Now it's awake again.
ddfarren, can you please also attach the output of dmesg from
2.6.24-21-generic ? what happens if you try sudo modprobe acx in that
kernel? is it possible that you don't have linux-restricted-modules
installed?
