This feels like a defacto standard since youtube started using it on
videos. Many new users will probably try this and then get annoyed when
they want to enlarge their picture and it does not work.

In previous versions of Ubuntu I have never had to enable this plugin.
But with Karmic to be able to fullscreen on double click I must enable
the plugin in Eye of Gnome.
It has taken me a week to work this out. I definitely vote for the
plugin being enabled by default just to prevent unnecessary
I think this might be fixed, in that the plugin is enabled on my Jaunty
system, but I might have enabled it and forgotten about it.
