I have GF6150 and I got the same problem. The nvidia module fails to compile
when I install it through envyng, although I have the kernel headers,
build-essential and all the other necessary packages installed.

Did you do sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop (or sudo /etc/init.d/kdm stop)?
The log shows that Xorg was still on and therefore I can't see anything
useful in the log.

Ok, make a backup of your xorg.conf and replace the xorg.conf with the
attached one.
then press CTRL+ALT+F1 so as to get to the command line.
Type:
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop (or kdm stop if you use Kubuntu)
then type:
sudo startx -- -logverbose 5
and paste these files again:
