the naming issue is a duplicate and not due to gvfs but to some library

Mounting any DVD-video-image with double click (gvfs) does not work any
more because it appends ;1 to every file:
Example: VIDEO_TS.VOB;1
Works well if you mount it using a loopback device ...

yes, of course, you just have to get and .ISO file, then right click
it, select open with archive mounter
