I've been having unrelated hardware and/or 9.10 upgrade troubles but I
just tested this out with a USB-based LiveCD boot. Suspend with SD card
inserted seems to work fine, nothing crashed and the filesystem remained
mounted. I tested this about half a dozen times on my Aspire One. The

Found bug #295443 while hunting for more info on known problems with
Suspend. I had had an SD card inserted during earlier attempts, so I
retried with the SD card removed and Suspend worked just fine.
Doesn't really seem like a duplicate but it might be a related issue.
