Well, I think it's better for me to wait 4.2 into Kubuntu 8.10 upstream.

Thanks for following up. This upstream bug seems to be pretty similar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=174894 but thats supposed to be
fixed. Are you able to try and reproduce with KDE4.1.4? There are
instructions here on how to get it http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-4.1.4

Sorry to say, with 4.1.4, the crash happen much more frequently compared
to latest kubuntu upstream... Now it crash about 1 hour or two...
