As you have noted, there is a new default power manager in kde4.2 (powerdevil) that we are using. You should either use one or the other, not both. That will most likely yield strange results if you do. guidance-power-manager has been removed from the kubuntu-desktop meta- package, so normally it

I will remove guidance-power-manager manually, with powerdevil I don't need it anymore. The only doubt I have is: why for example apt-get autoremove did not suggest me to remove guidance-power-manager? I am sure I did not marked guidance-power-manager as a manually installed package. **
