Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 8.10, up to date.

Using Ati supplied 9.01 driver, updated with repository updates to fglrx
of date 18 Feb 2009. Blank screen when booted to the following day.
Restarted using the safe mode with xfix selected from the menu.
Activated Visual Effects, which asked permission to install fglrx
driver. Permission granted. Install failed with the error in summary.

Synaptic reports the following fglrx 2:8.543-0ubuntu4.1 packages installed:
- fglrx-kernel-source
- fglrx-amdcccle
- fglrx-modaliases
- xorg-driver-fglrx

In addition the following also come up when typing fglrx into Quick search:
- jockey-gtk
- jockey-common
- xserver-xorg-video-radeon

'ubuntu-bug -p fglrx-installer' results in error dialog "Invalid problem
report" with the text "Package fglrx-installer does not exist".
Therefore this error may be misplaced.
