jerone, the X side of this is extraordinarily trivial, but it depends on
the changes to the kernel. You need to file an SRU for this
(particularly for the kernel side) and get it approved. Once the kernel
changes have been

The kernel changes are already in the proposed repository for the
kernel. What is need is the xorg intel driver to also add the proper PCI ids.
linux-image-2.6.27-14-generic_2.6.27-14.33_i386.deb is from the proposed
repository for Intrepid according to David Chen.

Bryce the point of this bug is to fix it in Intrepid. We have the kernel
fixes already in the proposed repository and to close this bug as fixed
we require the PCI id patch to be added to xorg intel driver.
Please see title of bug. We have know it is working in Jaunty.

issue:
1.Install xserver-xorg-video-intel_2.4.1-1ubuntu10.5~test1_i386.deb
2.Install linux-image-2.6.27-14-generic_2.6.27-14.33_i386.deb
3.Install linux-restricted-modules-2.6.27-14-generic_26.27-14.19_i386.deb
FYI:
Tried Jaunty final release, resolution can be detected correctly, no patches
are needed.
