Hi,
I did had the same problem with a correct detection of the usb-stick but
without loading any filesystem driver on Ubuntu 9.10 Kernel 2.6.31-16.
Following line of the bug description solved this problem:
echo usb_storage | sudo tee -a /etc/modules
But now I do have an unpleasured sound issue

Thank you for the info on /etc/modules and usb_storage. I have an
internal card reader that would not detect during boot and only detect
if I disconnected the cable and then reconnected it while Jaunty
It seems it is already fixed, you just need to update your system and
restart it.

There's an easy workaround. Just add a line with the text usb_storage
to the file /etc/modules, and then rebuild the initrd file. Running
the command /sbin/update-initramfs -k kernel version -u where you
need to replace kernel version with your current kernel version number
will do the
For me this bug is a real show stopper. I have an HP 5730 thin client
running the release version of 9.04. The image has been installed on USB
drive as 7.10 and has been upgraded a number of times. Now it does not
