Public bug reported:

After today's updates, including the new kernel ver. 2.6.28-11.36,
system refuses to boot. GRUB shows error message about unsupported or
invalid executable, then falls back to menu, allowing to choose an older
kernel (2.6.28-10 or 2.6.28-9) to boot with. Attempt to boot
2.6.28-11.36 kernel into recovery mode brings the same error message.

System is 64-bit Jaunty installed on a Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop. I didn't
attach output of commands required by guidelines as the kernel in
question is not even run by GRUB, so it's impossible to run the commands
on that kernel.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
