I have the same chipset on a Compaq V2402. Radeon Xpress 200M, jaunty
devel, xorg-driver-fglrx 2:8.600-0ubuntu1 and kernel 2.6.28-11-generic

For me, X hangs, and I need to hard-reset. Can currently only use
recovery netroot console...
If it helps, I noticed the fglrx module is not loaded.

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've
made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.
