I had the same problem with kbuntu 9.04 , impossible to instal digikam
with kpackagekit
with console I have done
sudo apt-get install digikam
and yhe instal was without problem, especially with amarok

This is only a problem if you use KpackageKit to do the install. If you
install via CLI and apt-get, this will be taken care of. I have digikam
running without loosing Amarok.
So this is a bug in KpackageKit. As I prefer a good GUI myself, I find
it strange the KpackageKit can not do exactly the
