This printer (HP DeskJet D2500) should set up automatically in Intrepid
or newer. In Hardy this printer was not yet explicitly supported by
HPLIP. For Hardy and earlier please choose the HP DeskJet 5550 as
printer model.

The HP Deskjet d2500 series of printers are only supported from hplip 2.8.5
while Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Hardy) includes hplip 2.8.2
Probably it is possible to select a similar printer driver to make it work,
please share the workaround you used.

HP Deskjet D2530 won't print from Inspiron Mini 9
I had to download the newer driver from HP and install it via the terminal.
The supposedly similar drivers did not work.

I was ultimately able to do a work-around and get the printer to function,
so I'm not sure whether this counts as a bug or as an instance of imperfect
compatibility between Ubuntu and the Mini 9.
