I am having an issue with Jaunty on i915. Using Metacity, the CPU gets
slowly but surely eaten up with no obvious process eating up the CPU
cycles. top shows no process taking more than 5-10% CPU time, while
the System Monitor panel applet shows the CPU at 100% usage, with
IOWait eating up most of
Doesn't sounds like the same thing sorry - if anything more than your
mouse pointer works on you screen it probably isn't. And I don't think
people with the Intel video lock-ups have any high CPU.
(Suggestion: Check your 'System Monitor' is displaying all processes (on
view menu). I noticed that
@martin, I have pasted the contents of 'lspci' on top, this is a 915
chipset. I tried running apport on the frozen system but kept getting a
