Can you print from any application in Ubuntu at all? Or is it just
OpenOffice.org that is not printing?

Thanks for the quick reply. My HP6980 printer will print from Open Office but
my Brother MFC210C will not.

such as the Applications-Text Editor, etc?
I'm trying to determine if this is somehow related to OpenOffice.org or
if your printer driver for the Brother printer itself is broken.

Chris, I just tried printing a test page straight from the printer config.

Ahh, Chris, I got it!! I went into the printer properties and under the
Device URL I changed it from generic to the Brother selection and the
driver was picked up and installed! I'm all set. I printed a test page.
