Hi there, has this bug been resolved now? I see you're using an Intel
card - have you tried using a Karmic LiveCD to see if this problem still
exists? Karmic uses the latest linux kernel which has had a lot of Intel
work done to it, which might help your cause. Good luck!

Not getting the
i got to my dislpay settings and i selected 800x600 60HZ and i got the
screen fitting my monitor exactly but the icons look bigger and i
require 1024x768 screen resolution

my monitor is LG 552V.
I tried in the said IRC client and in ubuntuforums long time back
They tried helping me but then it just solved only upto a certain
extent.
Then they suggested me to do a fresh install of 9.04 and report it as
bug here.

looking at your xorg.conf you dont have any configuration, then xorg
will use some default, and you have not supplied any EDID info or what
type of screen you have. And you will get more help asking in #ubuntu on
irc.freenode.org or visiting http://ubuntuforums.org for this type of
questions.
