It seems odd to me that eg Hoch-schule is not marked as an error? (Should be
Hoch-Schule? Or I'm a wrong, my
knowledge of the herman language isn't that strong)

Sorry, just updated to karmic today and tested again.
Same problem.
The dictionary only sees the word without the trailing -, and marks it as
wrong, offering the same worh *with* the trailing - as correction.

Additional info: OOo doesn't like the minus - at the ind of the word
as part of it, so it suggests Hochschul- instead of Hochschul -
leading to a corrected Hochschul-- - Hochschul--- etc.
