Now that we have the shared session between GNOME and UNE, one maybe
still want to access easily to what was on the desktop in the other
session, even if I just added the home folder as well.
Marking as invalid, do not hesitate to reopen the bug if you disagree
with that.

Desktop folder doesn't make any sense in UNR
I came to the same realization the other day. One possible solution
would be removing the Desktop bookmark. The folder would remain, but it
woudn't be visible under Files Folders by default. Then, possibly, the
folder could be phased out in later Ubuntu Netbook Remix releases if a
real solution
controversial, no doubt. But probably warrants consideration if it can
be done safely.

Removing the Desktop folder makes even less sense given its history,
familiarity and the importance of being able to switch to normal Desktop
mode. Furthermore, in at least one rendition the Desktop folder was
removed leaving people putting Desktop type stuff in their
/home/username folders which
