I have reloaded Grub2 twice and still have a 15 to 25 second Grub Loading. message before the menu. I have tried the default and also a splash screen which both take the same time. Grub2 takes longer than Ubuntu to load. This system has two hard disks and three operating systems. Is there a way

Hmmm... that sounds like put it back the old way rather than the new way is fixed. I too am experiencing a long wait as grub loads initially which is a shame since it undoes all the great work the team has invested in faster boot times. It's certainly not around the 45 seconds you describe here,

I have done a ubuntu 9.10 clean install on 30th october. it takes much time to load the grub (grub 1.97 beta 4) menu. Can you tell what type of Fix has been released? Is there any way to delete this new grub and install the old good one? -- Grub takes along time to load the list and the kernel

Some additional info. The grub detected windows xp correctly. Windows is installed in /dev/sda1 and ubuntu in /dev/sdb1. Before loading grub menu, the hard disk is under full work for about half a minute or more. (A machine like sound can also be heard). Such a thing I have not encountered from

I tried Karmic daily build AlternateCD 27th of Oct. and those two issues has been fixed, it loaded faster like legacy grub and it detected all my installtion May be those issues happened because I installed it on top of legacy grub of hardy (without uninstalling legacy grub first) ** Changed in:
