Please, can you tell us whether this is still an issue for you?
If so, please, can you include your last karmic kernel (2.6.31-16)?
To do it, just run following command from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal) while running Karmic. It
will automatically gather and attach
Since some time ago, it's not happening anymore. I think some system
update have fixed the problem.
