Thanks EffE, assuming both alsa-infos were taken with headphones plugged in, I do notice a difference in the way the speaker pin is muted - via Amp-Out mute in the auto model and via Pin-ctl in the toshiba model. Can you verify that this is what's causing the hiss? Download snd-hda-tools from

Yeah David, both alsa-infos were taken with headphone plugged in. I tried quickly and no one seems to affect the hiss. I admit to haven't tried so much because I have a fly to Rio within few hours and I have many things to do. As soon as I can I'll check better. :) -- You received this bug
