I have set CUPs to create debug error logs.
I tried to print two photos. The first printed without any problems.
Then nothing happened with the next one and it sat Processing for
ages. Now it is stuck in a loop (which I have seen on this machine
before) of saying Held until [time], Processing and

The error log from Lucid Lynx alpha 2. I booted in, printed a few test
pages, opened the photo up and tried to print it. It sat there for ages
before giving a printer disconnected message. I tried again. Same
deal.

I am using the HPLIP that comes with Ubuntu 9.10.
I select photos to print through HPLIP, change all the settings to be
photo quality, 6x4 on photo paper through the photo tray
The above was from the Lucid Alpha 2 live CD. I thought I would submit
it to save it getting lost in case there was anything useful.
I haven't yet got an error log when garbage is spewing out, but
hopefully there is something helpful in what I have managed to get.

Karmic or Lucid, please create ane error_log as described on

Thanks a lot, Till. I'm very impressed to see you helping with this --
the work that you have done on printing in Mandrake (as it was when I
used it) and Ubuntu has been amazing.
I'll try with a Lucid Live CD, but the difficulty is that a fresh
install usually works for a while before
It would be excellent if somebody could help me with this. I reinstalled
the operating system from scratch and got it to work again. Now it is
broken again and I'm not too keen on reinstalling again.
