Upgrading to kernel 2.6.32.2 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/v2.6.32.2/ seems to fix it as well so for those of us who want to keep using the xorg-edgers ppa this may be the route to stability. -- X crash - intel - xorg-edgers ppa enabled
