I have so far been unable to get sound to work on my new mainboard in

snd-hda-intel is loaded, and seems to recognize the device, but then it
reports "no codecs initialized" and I end up with no soundcard
available:

All sound-problem howtos and such which I can find kind of assume that
alsa finds the card and it just needs proper configuration, so I'm kinda
stuck...
