This happened to me the first time after a long time it worked perfectly
for me, I resolved it locally by killing gwibber-service and gwibber
from shell (with user rights). After that it started again as I was used
to. Reboot therefore should have helped, too

@Gary: Did not crash for me, even without additional updates to beta1.
tried the gwibber items in MeMenu, and the messaging menu etc...still
did not crash.

I'm running an up-to-date lucid and can seem to run it just fine. I did
have the issue the first time I installed lucid. I'm not sure this is
because the issue is fixed or just because I have since been able to
configure some accounts.
Was the crash only happening if there were no accounts
@Omer, oh I forgot your could update stuff while you're on it live.. I
won't be able to test it out until next weekend, do you still want me to
try it out? (unless someone else confirms)

@Denis, alpha 3 dont have the latest gwibber but you can get to the latest
gwibber by doing sudo apt-get update ;sudo apt-get upgrade and please do
note that it dont ask you to remove anything during the process
