Your right that Karmic is the latest stable Ubuntu release. However
Lucid is the latest developpement release of Ubuntu. Its final release
will be on next Thursday. I doubt if screm can be removed from Karmic's
repositories.

I noticed that screem has been removed from Lucid for the following
reasons:
RoQA; inactive maintainer, dead upstream, buggy, depends on deprecated libraries
(taken from

Whoa, so someone is working on this?
I don't have screem any more, but I did have permissions to open the
directory/included files, since I made it myself. And anyhow, wouldn't
an error message be more appropriate, rather than a crash?
