For me this bug is fixed after updating machines to 10.10, all my 3
computers are syncing now.

That happens on lucid i386, netbook remix and amd64. u1 is completely
hosed by now, nothing is gonna sync.

I don't think this is simply a case of overloaded servers causing many
retries (I'm not sure I agree with your change of summary and
importance).

would get a successful auth (and a bit of bandwidth) once in two days?

I was able to sync today in the morning (in Europe timezone). Itr was not
automatic. I manually downloaded one of the files from u1, copied it to Ubuntu
One folder and then did a touch command on it. It was immediately synced back
to u1 and after couple of minutes I saw rest of the files
Sync is broken here too. No real file uploading and downloading since a
few days.
