My iphone 3G with 3.1.3 looses its lyrics and the ability to use TuneWiki App,
when synced with rhythmbox. After resync with itunes everything ist fine.
Hopefully linux will some day be able to read the itunes lyrics. Until that i
have to stick to itunes (unfortunatly)

Pedro gtkpod doesn't seem to operate with iphones (despite updates to
libimobiledevice), at least not 3g iphones...

This also happened to me. I didn't notice untill this morning when I tried to
access my music on my iPhone. It displays Updating Library... this may take a
few minutes and just sits there.
I recall that the phone was syncing a few times while it was connected and
while I was playing music from
this might be a libgpod issue, could you install gtkpod and see if you
get a similar result with it?
