This is way off-topic, but, are there any plans to add a timeout before
the laptop goes to sleep when you close the lid? This way, you could
move from one place to another with the lid closed, without getting
disconnected.

We can't inhibit suspend or hibernation when it has been started by user
- it's done by gnome to prevent hardware from overheating with the
closed lid, and there is nothing to be done about it from application,
you have to configure gnome-power-manager to not suspend when lid is
closed.

Well,
When I close my laptop,it goes to suspend state. In the gnome-power-
manager is configured to do this. In Transmission, I have the inhibit
hibernation when torrents are active and I have two torrents active. So,
I think that, as hibernation is harder than suspend, when I close the
lid, the
Sorry, I don't get it... Transmission still doesn't prevent my computer
from going to sleep when I close my lid. So why is this not a bug? How
can I make it behave so?

transmission does inhibit suspend (although I can't remember if it does
it by default or not). However, inhibiting suspend only prevents system-
initiated suspend (ie, suspend-on-idle) - it doesn't (and shouldn't)
inhibit user-initiated suspend (eg, pressing a button, selecting suspend

Well, while pressing a button and selecting the entry froma UI are for
sure are for sure user-initiated suspends, I don't think that closing
the lid can be cleanly associated to the other examples.
I mean, when the user closes the lid, it doesn't necessary mean that
he wants to suspend (even if
org.gnome.SessionManager provides these modes of Inhibiting the desktop.
You can use any number of these modes at once:
* 1: Inhibit logging out
* 2: Inhibit user switching
* 4: Inhibit suspending the session or computer
* 8: Inhibit the session being marked as idle
Currently
Ah, I've just had it explained to me that 8 would inhibit the
screensaver too. 4 is the correct value for Transmission.
