I have the same problem.
My list of installed software shows : 7zip, Advanced Desktop Effects Settings
and Personal file sharing.
Although the issue may seem trivial it does make the software centre lose
credibility.
I also upgraded distro to maverick from lucid...

The Show 32130 technical items suggests that it's not a problem with
the archive, or how USC is reading the archive. Rather it's a problem
with app-install-data, or how USC reads that data -- there are many
things that should be shown by default which are being hidden by
default.
Downgrading to
My another desktop computer also has this problem. They all upgraded from Lucid.
I'm running 2.1.15 now.
