I saw this problem also when upgrading to Edgy. I have an archive of /var/log/dist-upgrade - please find it attached. Place it in a clean directory before untarring it. I managed to get my install to continue by doing dpkg -r opera, but no instruction told me to do this, and an ordinary user

Oooo. Much, much badness. After apt-get stopped on this symlink, I now have a completely hosed system. It's telling me to run apt-get -f install. This bitches that /usr/X11R6/bin is also owned by package opera. But I can't remove opera, because it's telling me to run apt- get -f install when I do
