I just and updated my kubuntu to 10.10 and have this bug as well.
I have HP 8510p laptop. This bug is really, really, REALLY bad as I use
(or would like to use) the middle click copy all the time.

one solution is tapping in upper-right corner of your touchpad or tapping
left+right button together...

It looks like the ClickPad support is to blame... it treats the middle button
as a left or a right, depending on where your finger is.
