I believe Karl Lattimer was mentioning something about implementing mpt's
design for Natty and merging a few of those keyboard items as per :
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KeyboardMenu#Roadmap .
But i dont think there is a project for this yet, marking it as
indicator-application for now.
