Indeed, it would probably be the same fix for why gtk links were not
WFM shotwell 0.8.1

Binary package hint: shotwell
When I want to crop an image, click on Crop, I resize the rectangle
for clipping and nothing happens. By chance I saw that trying to change
the desktop, the desktop will not be changed and appears the window for
cropping the
the issue does not happen with metacity so the issue is indeed in
compiz, and the workaround is to hold alt key and move the shotwell
window just a little then the crop bar will appear

I can't reproduce this on Maverick, so I'm assuming this is a problem
with compiz on Natty. I've ticketed it upstream here:

I can't reproduce this in the trunk build of Shotwell on Natty. I'm not
running Unity, however. Are you running Shotwell in Unity?
