If it isn't possible for natty (which I can understand regarding the
general Ubuntu GNOME policy) would it be possible to update the package
in the gnome3-ppa? It currently has 2.91.3 which is very old and it is
missing glade completely.
Thanks!

ok, debian got the new glade in experimental but it conflicts with the
gtk2 version since they use the same directories for their user
documentation

do you require a new gedit for example?

without the new glade?

No, non of the other GNOME3 modules should be required. As I said, if
the new gnome-terminal is installed we might inherit some of it's
settings but if it isn't there it won't matter.
Anjuta3 isn't very useful without the new glade3 (and as such the glade
plugin available) because all the
ok, so it means we should at least try to get the new glade in before we
get the new anjuta if we want to update this cycle

Yes, I think that would be a good approach.

The new anjuta is in the GNOME3 ppa:
https://launchpad.net/~gnome3-team/+archive/gnome3
Would it work fine on a GNOME 2.32 environment? Or does it use gsettings
keys from GNOME where 2.32 still use gconf? We will probably keep it in
the ppa this cycle
** Changed in: anjuta (Ubuntu)
Until now, we don't use any gsettings keys from GNOME 3.x. It might be
possible that the terminal plugin will check gsettings keys of gnome-
terminal in the future but in that case it would just fail gracefully if
those are not found.
But I cannot speak for glade/devhelp here.
But good to know
I looked into this earlier in the cycle and I recall a dependency using
the new gsettings. I don't recall which right now.

Update anjuta
If this is the only thing preventing you from shipping Anjuta 3.0 in
Natty I would be very happy to fix it if you have any details. I am
currently not aware of anything depending on desktop-wide gsettings-
keys. Of course gsettings/dconf itself will be required.
