This seems to now be resolved in 12.4 by disabling stretch to minimise
while in workspace switcher.
Can close now thanks

Still present in 11.10. I'll check if #17 workaround works...

Yep, disabling Maximize effect in CCSM solves the problem.

Worked for me too. I forgot about this one when I install Oneiric.
Funny, I thought Compiz would work better with the Unity Desktop.

I also have this issue on Natty AMD64. It does not seem to be related to
the driver because I actually recently upgraded from an Nvidia 9600GT
(using that binary driver) to a Radeon 6870 (using the catalyst binary
driver.) Problem happened under both sides. Disabling Maximize Effect is

I think I'm having the same issue. With wobbly windows on and a window
maximized, when I go into expo and drag the window to another workspace,
it moves workspaces just fine. However, if I go back into expo the
window is still attached to the mouse pointer. The corners stay
anchored, but the
I found a workaround. I unchecked the Maximize Effect in the Wobbly
Windows settings, and everything works good now.

I don't get this problem, but I'm using the binary nvidia driver on both
my computers. It may be a bug in the 3D nouveau driver.

I changed over to binary driver weeks ago and the issue still exists, to
make it happen do the following:
Turn on wobbly windows bring up workspace switcher when you have some
maximised windows and some not move them around for a while, you will
find windows freezing in place bent out of shape
Ok, if the multiple windows issue (as depicted in your screenshot) is
not present, the problem you're currently having is bug #688249, and
possibly bug #743634. Did the multiple windows thing disappear when
you switched to the binary driver? If so, you might want to re-target
this bug against the

Wobbly windows in compiz still breaks the window switcher, but compiz no
longer crashes when you first turn wobbly windows on.
This will need fixing or stopping it being turned on IMHO, remember this
is an old compiz default under Ubuntu so many will go looking for it.

If so then it is fixed, as does not crash when enabled now, but it is
still unusable with workspace switcher.

every time.

Yes exactly the same issue as when running unity.
Couple of things to note also:
1) Turning on Wobbly Windows disables Snapping windows
2) I am having to use the only NVIDIA option of Experimental 3D support
for NVIDIA cards
Cheers,
