fixed.

Same behaviour in unity-2d on x64. I guess it's actually just meant to
work like that and is not a bug at all.

Nope, the new default of Unity 3D is to un-hide on mouse touching the
left edge. Maybe this is an architecture-specific issue?
Unity 2D may not have implemented the 'unhide on mouse touching left
edge' yet.

Unity 2D works the same on my PPC and x64 computers: hover anywhere over
the ubuntu button and the menus show. On 3D the edge and top left corner
work properly depending on the setting. On PPC I can't test 3D obviously
:-/
It would make sense for 2D and 3D to have as many similarities as
