Still, the problem is that Natty adds a non-standard scrollbar
management, which causes this bug. If the Ubuntu team decided to do

Sure, but the Ubuntu packages might already have a fix for this. Can you
test this PPA containing updated Eclipse packages:

Seems there is not yet natty versions of these, but you can just replace
maverick with natty. They install fine
I tried the current eclipse package in natty, the updated packages in
the PPA and latest downloaded from eclipse.org (Helios SR2, but could
not reproduce the problem. Running Unity I opened a text document,
turned on line numbers. and filled one page with text. Is there anything
else you did?
