Public bug reported: Hello all,
firstly i'm kinda new to reporting bugs, so please forgive me if I forget to give all the information etc. Secondly, I have a Compaq Persino CQ60 with Atheros 5001 wireless card and when I try to connect to a wireless box, it says "wireless disabled by hardware switch". Now I know that Acer and Dell laptops are having the same problem, but they don't seem to have the same wireless chipset as I, so I though it would be best to file a new bug report. I used to use Ubuntu from 9.04 - 10.10 for time to time and the wireless never worked, but looking deeply on the ubuntu website at device support, it said that my chipset worked with 10.10 and 11.04, but in fact it did not. If anyone needs more information, I will give it out :) Thanks ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - Ubuntu 11.04 - "wireless disabled by hardware button" + Ubuntu 11.04 - "wireless disabled by hardware switch" -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/786729 Title: Ubuntu 11.04 - "wireless disabled by hardware switch" -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
