If you could confirm the connection is slow when you just disconnect and

1,2, 3)?

NM slow to connect through WPA2 on boot and after resuming
A simple reconnect shows the same behavior. There are no duplicates of
the connection in the editor.
I'm attaching a 'cleaned' .apport file as apport-collect would send too
much private data for my taste.

Also I see a busy icon when trying to (re)connect instead of just the
usual connection animation. Attaching screencast.
