Hi Ian,
I'm a Shotwell dev and I'm trying to reproduce and diagnose your
problem. Could you email me the JPEG files you were trying to export
(I'm lucas at yorba.org)? What's more, if you can reliably reproduce
this problem, could you repro it with Shotwell logging turned on? Doing
this is easy.
This is ticketed upstream at http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/4119
We believe we have a handle on the problem. Still, if you could supply
the files Lucas asked for (email them to me, j...@yorba.org) that would
be useful.

I've committed a patch to our repository that I believe fixes this
problem. It's been difficult to reproduce, which is why I can't say for
sure that this is a definitive fix. Since it sounds like you can
reproduce this easily, would it be possible for you to pull the latest
Shotwell from our git
Unfortunately, the nature of the files in question means that they
cannot be transferred to another individual. I'll see if I can locate
other non-sensitive files that trigger this bug.

Jim - I'm trying to install the latest version of Shotwell from git and when I
attempt to run 'make' I get the error:
Shotwell cannot be built by Vala compiler 0.13.0 or greater. You are running
0.13.4.
Are you aware of this? I installed the vala compiler via 'apt-get install
valac'.

You
Yes - Shotwell doesn't yet support building with Vala 0.13. We'll fix
this in Shotwell 0.12:
http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/3760
On Oneiric, you can install the valac-0.12 package to get a version of
valac that works for Shotwell today.

I'm unable to reproduce this here. Can you tell me how many photos you
were attempting to send? When the export dialog popped up asking for
file type (JPEG, Current, etc.) and width/height, what did you specify?
Also, what kind of files were these (JPEG, RAW, etc.)?
Thanks.

You received
It was 11 jpegs, 1520x2032.
When the send to dialogue came up I selected:
Format: Current
Quality: (Option is greyed out at high(90%))
Scailing constraint: Original Size
I had the export metadata box checked.
I just tried it a second time with the same results, however at the time
I did not have
I'm going to file this as two totally separate bugs, since the error is
totally different.
