I've upgraded to 12.04 beta2, and Freemind has a generic icon as its
launcher-icon instead of its custom butterfly icon.

I see the same behaviour on an upgrade from 11.04 to 11.10. Confirming
and sent reported upstream - although this may be nothing to do with
Freemind.
