Title:
unity makes
Addendum : toolbar covers usable part of screen. Icons too large to be
functional. Font sizes too large, pages don't fit in screen. I'd do
screen captures, except the links to my screen capture programs are
gone, as are the rest of my usual working tools - which is a key part of
the problem.
Applications are missing.
Application menu is missing
Shortcuts on top menu are missing.
A large menu of some kind is on right side of screen, purpose unknown, full of
icons for programs that aren't used often. No way to customize it or make it
go away.

Or to rephrase as our QA team puts it.
Login;
expect to see applications menu and links to regularly used programs (Such as
~/apps/eclipse/eclipse for custom local install)
result:
no applications menu, shortcuts have been removed.
Result: system is unusable, as tools are gone.

You
still not able to understand what you are trying to say. Could you make
a new user account in your computer and login there and see what works
and what not/

Whats the main issue you are trying to report? This is a bug tracker
which handles one problem at a time, so if your descriptio focused on
one issue that would be really helpful.
Did you upgrade your Ubuntu or did a clean install? its really helpful
to use the comment 'ubuntu-bug unity' when
The application menu I had is gone, including the shortcuts I set up.
From upgrade.
(there are many many other issues I have - but the ability to access
tools to investigate further is a start).
