The bug was probably related to an operating system or desktop component,
rather than a problem with Inkscape itself, so I'm closing it Invalid for the
project.

10.5.8 (i386)
Glib 2.28.1, Gtk+/X11 2.24.4, various Gtk+ (default and custom) themes
(Clearlooks and Murrine-based) which all use the regular Gtk+ scrollbars.

Just wanted to add that I am using Xubuntu as my desktop. Inkscape has
had issues with some of the XFCE components, so it's possible it is
either a GTK issue or an XFCE issue.
