This bug does also affects me. However I uninstalled pidgin-skype and
installed the newest deb from this website: http://eion.robbmob.com/
(Version 13 Jan '13) and now Pidigin works fine and have good Skype
support.

pidgin crashed with SIGSEGV in _XSend()

I couldn't remove the account, every time that I press at manage
accounts, pidgin crash. So I had first to remove package pidgin-skype to
be able to remove the account.
