lightdm from starting

I can't login to the system using lightdm
i have to login through ssh from other PC and stop lightdm then start
gdm to be able to login
i can't even login to the recovery console from lightdm
I don't think it's log file permission problem because the files last
change date is today

well setting permissons on /var/log/lightdm fixed it.
[4.733093] init: failsafe main process (869) killed by TERM signal

[4.742415] init: apport post-stop process (1031) terminated with status 1
[4.745009]
removed gdm = total fail
gdm itself works.thats really annoying
